Test of new rod

From 5:00 to 8:30 AM, having occasionally a little rain. Test itself was done well, felt its light weight nicely. Hopefully would like to catch the first fish for it next time.

New used rod has come

on Saturday. Felt like that it has very hard stiffness and likely very suitable for heavy weighted lures. Weather forecast says that it will be raining from tonight though, there is no option not to go fishing in the early morning tomorrow for me. Would like to check its performance as soon as possible!

There was no KAMASU any more...

At K, from 5:30 to 8:00 AM. Lost two sets of KAMASU flies, got a kind of possibility of big octopus? Anyway, it was also fishing itself. There was no promise that the same species of fish was always there, Lance.

Got it!

Just within my budget limit as I planed.
Looking forward to its arrival!

My story about octopus

Speaking of Octopus, I remember one summer day when I was a schoolboy. My uncle and aunt took my cousin and me to the seashore. I liked to catch small fish and something by fishing net in the small pool surrounded by rocks and got crazy about it. I found the middle sized crab, but it looked like something strange. Yes, it was dead one. I was wondering what happened to it for a while. Suddenly I could see something which was camouflaged with the rock. It was the octopus which ate the crab I saw! I was surprised and so excited to find it. And could catch it very carefully by the fishing net. I wanted to show it to my dad and mom and eat it, so I took it in the small plastic case filled by sea water. But it died soon, and got bad when I arrived my home. As a result, I had no option without threwing it away to the river in front of my house...

About 30 year later, I could catch it by lure fishing, bring it in the cooler condition, and cook it by myself. Ate it for lunch and tasted it cautiously. Just Thank Heaven!

Tying for Barracuda

Looking forward to the weekend!

First try for the shore fishing

From 5:30 to 8:30

Kind Curryman lent his seabass rod to me for while. It was much better than my trout rod, and could cast 20g jig easily. But for 40g jig, it likely was a little soft.

7:27 Captured not seabass but this pretty one.

Keep going, Lance.

Personally I felt that

this was better than normal salt-grille one though, my family except me liked that one contrary to my expectation... Maybe my salt choice(with herb) was wrong this time.

KAMASU salted and dried overnight

Cut and removed guts. Rinsed it very carefully.
Wait 10 min after salted.

Dried them in the shade.

Ready for the grill!

Checked the surf a little bit

Very nice sunny day.
She and I visited there together.

Checked the surf a little. 40g jig should be the best balance there. And noticed that the longer and the stiffer rod for the surf.

New plan is getting ready on your mind, Lance?

<Information>
  • Checked around 11PM.
  • One fisherman said there was nice 'boil' just before we arrived.
  • High tide, 10:03. Tide level:146cm

Barracuda again

Started fishing past 4 AM this morning. During the dark, no reaction was gotten on my EGI(Japanese special lure for the squid).

6:03 Time for barracuda likely got started.

I added one special dropper to the jig lure.

6:18 it worked well soon!

But I found some problems on this dropper.
Need to adjust a little till next fishing.

6:23 3rd one by dropper again. And added 4th small one by jig after a little while. Today's time limit was 7:15 though, got total 4 barracudas this morning. Twice of the last week, wasn't it?

The weather forecast said

that we would have rain from the early morning on Saturday this weekend. Which meant that I couldn't fish at that time. Then you should go in the night.
So I put the younger daughter to sleep, headed for N first around 23:00. Soon moved to O and fished till 1 AM. And moved to I again as the last hole. Several local fishermen targeted HIRASUZUKI seabass there. I got a little excited and fished till 3 AM and it began to rain... Totally skunked.

Pic from Y-san, fishing on the surf around 10:00 same night. Looks yummy!

The following early morning after the super moon

From 2 AM to 4 AM at K hole. Couldn't feel the power of the almost full moon... No AORIIKA was seen by sight and few fishermen there.

YOZURI

I didn't know that lure fishing was banned there till I arrived it... Checked SE and NU hole a little though, went back home at 4 AM on Monday. Are U ready for working, Lance?

Good to eat

Before

After. Good to eat for our lunch. Thanks god!

KAMASU

Left home 4:00 AM, and arrived there 4:30.
First time to visit this famous hole for me.

5:48 Got my first fish ever by salt lure fishing!
After this one, hooked other two more KAMASU.
But couldn't catch it. Must be too fast reeling...

There were many fishermen around me.
But they kept silence especially fishing EGing for AORIIKA.

7:54 joyful second ones!
I kept these two for lunch of our family.

Maybe I

got trapped in this fishing already.
Need to go to DAISO again to buy some jigs
since I lost all five this morning...

After taking TOEIC test

Check the fishing tackle.
And got my first PE line.

And got these at

special discount shop.
Every items including the case priced 100 JPY!
I loved DAISO so much.

Looking forward to fishing next early morning.

Got only this acquisition this morning.

Day trip

My wife and I took a day trip today. Using quite unusual transportation measure, train.

My first visit to the DEAN & DELUCA. And got some meals for lunch there. But there were no chopsticks together...

It was been a quite for a while.

Bought some good items there.

Yum-yum!

On the Culture Day Holiday

She performed well and looked very happy.
I realized that the school was suitable for her very well.

Bad focus...

Good job, sweetie.

I could catch it by hand. Thought it was TONOSAMA grass hopper, but likely it was KURUMA grass hopper... And the person who found it first was our 6 years old younger daughter! She knows more than me about insects. That was my joy. And I would like to catch real TONOSAMA grass hopper soon.
