Only one luck was not bad in the early morning

6:00-7:30 at the river B. #14 black EHC only. Water showed a little high level after rain. Got several small strikes, one good one's reaction, and...

this golden one. Felt it was enough to go back home.

Recent three records of getting skunked

1st, 7/23 around 15:00 at the river A. Had many trouble with spider's net, and couldn't get any good reaction from the fish. Decided not to come to this river until the end of this season.
KIMAWARI on the rock.

Unknown flowers.

2nd, 8/10 after 14:00 at the river B. It should be the best time flame in a day to fish this upper section though, got only a few reactions from the babies. Water level was definitely low, but...

A kind of HIRATA? Unknown mayfly.

3rd, 8/27 from 6:00 to 7:30 at the river D. Water flow got recovered to normal of a little increased level, and its color showed nice clear. Looked like to be very nice condition after long interval. But hooked only two babies, they were released by themselves...

It was first time to see you at that river.

Hopefully let me have better tomorrow morning...

Some pieces of unusual summer

It was definitely unusual summer for us all. The followings are some pix of summer just for the record.
8/7 Nice muscats in TOCHIGI.

Must be great help for the touring biker.

Cooler air is needed even for the mantis.

8/10 Biking around home with the elder daughter in MISHIMA for a kind of preparation of it.

8/21 Sunset on the last day of summer vacation.

8/25 Checked it after long interval and sent its pic to the young fisherman in Boise.
Read it a little and Remembered some old memory. Wishing his good luck.

Early morning fishing on the last day of summer vacation

Visited the river E though, got no reaction. And finally I found that there was the early bait fisherman after 1 hour past... Went back to the car and  headed for the river F.

Approximately 7AM-8AM, I could land this beautiful fish by the peacock parachute pattern. Just thank goodness!

Maybe next weekend?

Driver can't drink any...

Forgot to take pic of main...

From 4 to 7 PM.
A kind of short, but we had a good time there.

Found some rises!

Early morning fishing after being back to MISHIMA

Visited river B in the early morning today. Used Flying Ant pattern only. Reaction was not bad. Caught 3, missed more than 3, maybe.

Likely need to tie some flies for the end of summer vacation. Keep fishing just for your improvement, Lance.

Before the typhoon has come

Visited the green park nearby here.

Long time no see, you!

Very fine day just before the typhoon is coming.

Boat's roof was precious to make shade for us.

Young AOSAGI was going to fish.

Itchy?

It was the closest distance to AOSAGI in my history.
Maybe the boat helped to lower its guard.

Her favorite athletics.

Shade is precious for all species.

Female TSUKUTUKUBOUSHI.
Summer is getting close to the end.

Memorandum for the next trip

  1. Bandanna was so effective to protect my ears from the sunshine.
  2. But need to sun protect for the back of your hand.
  3. Racing pants worked well to protect hip pain.
  4. One water bottle for MTB(700 ml) and 1.5 litter drink were a kind of marginal on the hot summer day. Additilnal 500 ml might be needed next time.
  5. #14 sized fly might be the best bid for yesterday. #10 size was refused many times.
  6. Wet wading was so comfortable through a day.
  7. Need to get a new SPD shoes since its sole was removed partially. Over 10 years old one...

Lance's Off in August; After 3 hours drive and 2.5 hours biking

Left home 3:08 AM and arrived there about 3 hours later just as scheduled.

Made preparation and left there 6:25 riding my MTB. The water showed lower level than before. I dropped at the curve which I could see many floating fishes before, but couldn't see any this time.

One vehicle passed me when I was biking, and they said that 'The upper you go up, the more you can catch fish'. I believed that word and kept climbing. After about 2.5 hours biking, could get to the my  farthest hole at that river. 9:02 AM, got started fishing.

9:14, first fish. Good start. Added the other soon. But after missed the third one, could catch any till 11 AM... That was not my expectation...

Gave up the upper section and decided to go back downstream.

11:46 parked my bike at the same place as the 2nd parking of the last trip(28). And I saw two motor cycles and one bike around the gate. Many fishermen...

Checked the downstream first, but got no reaction...
Because of low water or earlier fishermen???
Only caught the small one as the third fish.

14:42 Late but nice 4th one!
Seemed to be YAMATO?

26cm though, I liked his handsome looking!
Black color meant that he lurked under the deep hole.

Keep fishing upper.

15:25 5th one was so white caught in the riffle.

Evening fishing was always busy.
Cast and check the watch, and cast...

16:13 6th fish was the longest(27) today.

16:57 Stopped fishing and walked down to the parking.
17:25 Started biking back to the car.

17:50 Dropped at the hole B and fished a little...
Total 7 through a day. Much less than the last trip(over 20).
Definitely the reaction of fish was slow and nervous today.

18:40 could be back to the car parking before dark. Fishing itself was not the best though, it was nice summer adventure for me.
