Countless MONKAGE's Spinner

Could come to the mainstream in the day time today, from noon to the evening. At the first hole, checked the riffle and got only one reaction.

Moved to the 2nd and last hole of today. Yes, I waited for the rise there from 14:00 to 18:30. Small baetises were seen though, there was no sign from fishes... And some big white dun got popped out in the evening, MONKAGE.

The more it getting in the dark, the more MONKAGE's spinner were seen there. They made the birds crazy to eat them. But they likely didn't make the fishes crazy.

I don't like to say this fly fisher's typical words,' Although I couldn't catch any fish, I was happy only to see the mayfly's super hatch'. But it was true. So please let me know your next plan, Lance.

MONKAGE and Stonefly

Had the early morning(5:40-7:40) at the mainstream this weekend again. Saw the floating MOKAGE's dun at the first hole. If its number got increased...

Could see several shucks of the stoneflies at the 3rd hole.

And many caddis flies were seen everywhere this morning.
Would like to visit there in the day time.

So should I use your imitation fly for the next again?

Got the first SYAKU on the mainstream in the early morning

To tell the truth, I'd been having a hesitation to visit the mainstream this early morning. But decided to try it for my wants to do.

Around 5:30, there were seen some aquatic insects there.
It was the first time to see this type of stonefly.

Dead HIRATA's spinner, could imagine that there were many in the last evening.

GAGANBO(cranefly) were still seen even in the early morning.

And there were many HIGENAGA's shucks there(This above one was dead one though). If the fish was going to eat them, it'll be fantastic. Could see no rise there, so moved to the another hole around 7 AM.

Eventually, I got the strike! And it was heavy tug, yes must be good size. Treated it very carefully during the fight. Stepped down several streams with fish. And could land it successfully with the new landing net. I thought it must be the gorgeous AMAGO though...

Good SYAKU rainbow...
Much better than getting skunked.

Don't give it up till the end, Lance!

Unknown rises

Could fish from 10:30 to 14:00 on the mainstream today. Hatch was a kind of slow. After checked several holes, I decided to wait for the rise at one hole. When I was going to move to the riffle downstream, felt like having heard some sound of the rise. Yes, it was the rise and not only one but some. Tried some flies though, they ignored them completely... Couldn't find them out though, could have fun time there on the mainstream from 13:00-14:00. Hopefully would like to try again soon.

3rd early morning fishing

at the branch river. It was first try for the middle section this year.
There were spider's nets wherever it looked like good hole.

Where is my spring...

2nd early morning fishing

5:50-7:10 had a little rain occasionally at river D. Some baetis and HIRATA were seen though, got no reaction. Checked some holes of mainstream after it, and found several rises around hole O. Maybe the calm status had them rise for something. Don't forget it for the next, Lance.

5:30-7:30 Mainstream kept silence

5:30-6:30 Hole M; Could see several HIGENAGAs, but any of them were not eaten.
6:30-7:30 Hole R and S; Just silence. Likely a little early for the early morning fishing on the mainstream.
