HAKONE; DAY2

It is time for breakfast.

Impressed with its quality.

Honey and maple syrup, golden combination for the French toast.

He was busy for keeping an eye out for the employees.

Let's walk around the garden after breakfast.

Wanna come here again someday.

HAKONE

It had been hard week for me because of bad cough... And it was quite unusual for me to have 0.5 fishing days in 2.5 free days during their spring vacation.

Today we gathered at HAKONE for my wife's dad's retirement party.

It was  cloudy and foggy day but good day for me to see my family after 1 week interval.

Let's have a wonderful evening together!

SHITAMI and Fever...

Yesterday, after I sent my family off to my wife's parents' house,
I headed for the river just as SHITAMI.

SAKURA was just out there.
I fished up the stream with OKUMA crippled dun pattern.

Only KAWAMUTSU reacted to my fly.
I didn't see any OKUMA MADARA mayfly today.
Was its hatch ended any more?

After 3hours blind fishing, I felt so hungry and tired suddenly.
I didn't think that it would be much worse later...

After I found ERUMON HIRATA mayfly first time this year,
I decided to go back home without evening fishing because of bad feeling.
And at home, I realized that I had a fever, 39.3 degrees C!

Which meant I had to give up a big fishing trip with my friends today...
It was first time for me to cancel the fishing because of bad health.

Kitchen Drunker again

My poor wife is still suffering from severe swelling after pulled out a wisdom tooth yesterday. So I'm in charge of cooking dinner tonight also. I mean red wine is necessary for kitchen drunker anyway.

Research again

Buck pheasant welcomed us at the river's edge.

During playing with them, I've been staring at the water surface.
There were several hatches, Baetis, Caddis and MADARA's, but not so often. And we did see several sporadic splash rises also.

It was short time research but happy to see some rises there.

Hair Wing Crippled Dun

For the blind fishing on the riffle,
I believe this should be the best in the MADARA season.
Visible, high float and easy to be dried. Please give me a luck next fishing trip.

Short time research

By the time I had to take care of my kids, did the short time research of the mainstream in the morning today. Mainly I checked the several riffles, and had only one reaction. I used KOKAGE parachute emerger though, maybe I should have used MADARA's imitation having more attractive power.

OKUMA's hatch has started

3rd fishing trip to KANOGAWA main stream this year.

OKUMA was popped out! I did see it.
But we fly fishermen need more hatches which can cause many rises.
I missed one splash rises, and two takes to my fly on the riffle.
Yes, I caught no fish today.

And I found my spent wing length was so long that it was easy to be tangled each other... Needed to be cut shorter later.

I could see many stoneflies before OKUMA around noon.
And after OKUMA, saw some caddis there.
I hope it will be better in shape soon.

OKUMA spent

Because I went to bed early with my daughter last night, got up early this morning. And tied some spent pattern for today's fishing trip. Wanna see OKUMA first time this year today.

Test of the porlarized filter

Today's purpose to visit this branch was to check the performance of the polarized lens filter, which I bought long time ago.
And my conclusion was that I didn't like it...

But I liked 7 SUN fish's beauty.

HIRATA spinner's swarming was seen so often.

There were not so many reactions as I expected though,
it must be fun two hours for me.

HAZAKURA

Season is surely going on. KAWAZU_ZAKURA around our home becomes light green color now. Personally I like this HAZAKURA's color contrast.
By the way, please let me find good one's rise tomorrow, god.

After 3 nights,

it got milder and softer taste.
Now my rank got 3stars(5stars is the highest rank) tonight.

First fishing at the branch this season

This weekend, I didn't have a chance to go to the mainstream.
So let's check the branch's condition today.

HIRATA was already popped out!
I was very happy just to see you.

After long silence time, could see the first fish.

I love the beauty of this river's fish.

Thank you for coming second one.
So far it worked well.

I love the soft color contrast of Japanese spring.

Stray baetis was on the front glass inside of my car.
Released it to the air after taking pic.
See you and please let the big fish rise to the surface.

Morning Tying

From 7:30-9:00 AM, tied 5 parachute emerger this morning.
Still far from the original though, getting better.

Can't stop drinking anymore...

Should be called just 'Kitchen Drunker',Lance.
I don't know whether I am cooking or drinking anymore...

By the way, nice fish, Mr. MURATA! Dreaming of 'Dourado'.

Dad's kitchen

always needs beer and fishing TV during his cooking.

Early Summer?

It is too warm today, isn't it? Just like as early summer.
We couldn't help going out with a little fear of PM 2.5...

We felt the branch of tree was cut too much in this park.
Is it OK to have leaves for them?

If this warm weather keeps going, what will be going on around KANOGAWA main stream?
You'll know well on next weekend, Lance.
